2 step productions

Two Step Productions, operated by Cris Buchner and Kate Morrow, provides General Management for theatrical productions, festivals and special events.

Cris Buchner was the Managing Director of the Barrow Street Theatre from 2003 – 2007 where she worked closely with producers Scott Morfee and Tom Wirtshafter to create a downtown hub of innovative, critically acclaimed Off-Broadway theatre. She began general managing Barrow Street Theatre shows, and eventually branched off and began providing management for productions in other venues as well. In addition to General Management, Cris is a director and producer. She was co-Artistic Director of Six Figures Theater Company from 2002 – 2007 where she produced several shows including the Artists of Tomorrow Festival, an annual festival featuring over 30 new works from emerging artists. She has collaborated with choreographer Juan Borona to create the original dance musicals The Little Mermaid (West End Theater, CSV) and TraumNovela (Dallas Hub Theater, Barrow Street Theatre) as well as exciting special events such as a fully staged West Side Story Sing Along in a 100 year old West Village gymnasium. Before moving to NYC in 2001, she graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Theatre Directing and formed (with Kate Morrow) a small theatre company called Impulse: Theatre of the Fearless that performed plays in bars in downtown Dallas.

Kate Morrow was the theatre manager at the Barrow Street Theatre from March 2006 - June 2007 where she oversaw operations including programming, rentals, special events and production. During that time she also served as Company Manager of No Child... by Nilaja Sun and Gone Missing by the Civilians. Kate has a varied background in television and film production as well as theatre. She has been a stage manager and production manager for theatrical productions in NYC and Dallas and also worked in documentary film and reality TV for several years as a location sound mixer and director. She created and directed the original documentary films: All That Glitters about NYC fashion duo Heatherette and Annie and the Motts about sustainable family ranching. She is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Radio, Television and Film.
